Australia v's Pakistan International Blind Cricket Series
The series began with Australia playing a lead warm up game against Adelaide University on University Oval. Australia played some great cricket and battled hard for a great win.
South Australia also hosted a game against Pakistan in another warm up game. Unfortunately for the local side we weren’t able to put up much of a fight and were bowled out in quick time.
Australia lost all three twenty20 matches and 40 over matches (ODI’s) to the number one ranked side in the world. Pakistan showed how great blind cricket can be played by professional blind cricketers. All of the Pakistan squad are paid employees of the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Australia side, made up of amateurs put in creditable performances throughout the series.
This was undoubtedly Australia’s best game of the series. Batting first Australia amassed a competitive 154 off 20 over’s. Unfortunately for Australia Pakistan reached the total in the last over.
For the first time ever International Blind Cricket was played on an Australian Test Ground, the Adelaide Oval. The Adelaide Oval hosted the final of the match between Australia and Pakistan on March 1st, to which culminated in a successful series and positive closing function.
