The Blind Sporting Council would like to welcome you to the first edition of our new format newsletter.

The aim of our Newsletter is to keep you further up to date with our activities, up coming events, and the outcome of some of the recent events that have been held within our Blind and Vision Impaired Community.

We hope you enjoy our first edition, and welcome any feedback, or submissions of articles or results from events.

 

15th Birthday Celebrations

The Blind Sporting Council, has been assisting our blind and vision impaired community in South Australia and Northern Territory, to achieve their sporting dreams, for 15 years, as of the 9th May 2011.  

 We recently celebrated this event in our office, in Hindmarsh square.

Thank you to all of our supporters for making this event such a success and memorable for all. I think it is safe to say that in our first year the event exceeded expectations raising $31,000 and we can’t wait for this year's event.

Australia v's Pakistan International Blind Cricket Series

Adelaide recently hosted the Australia v's Pakistan International Blind Cricket series from February 22nd to March 1st.  Unfortunately Pakistan had a series clean sweep over Australia in their 3 game Twenty20 series and the One Day international series.

The Australian womens Goalball team has missed a golden opportunity to qualify for the London 2012 Paralympic Games, after bowing out of contention at the IBSA Goalball World Cup in the quarter final stage, in April.
